WHAT WORKS FOR POISON IVY?

poison ivyI was outside gardening today, pulling out strings of poison ivy vines, and I thought about how I had a nasty rash of poison ivy a few years ago.

It was all over me, and it was spreading.  I was also going through a very stressful time dealing with my son’s worsening Sensory Processing Disorder, and I believe the stress was making it worse.

I went to my doctor at the time, an internist, and she gave me steroids.  I really didn’t want to take them, but the rash was getting worse.

I took the steroids for the 6 days of the pack, and they definitely helped.  However, when I was done with the pack, the rash came back with a vengeance.  Argh!

It was at that time that I decided to check out what my other options for dealing with poison ivy were.  I discovered a homeopathic remedy of poison ivy, Rhus toxiconderon, at Whole Foods, and, voila’, it worked!

Not only did it work, but it didn’t have any negative side effects like steroids do.  Now, when I realize I’ve got a poison ivy rash, I take the homepathic remedy.

I will say I don’t get rashes now near as bad as I used to because I’ve gotten my stress response and immune dysregulation under control, and it is a good thing!
